[ The mindscape is different from when Lethe last saw it.

This time it's a sprawling desert, twin suns shining overhead, scorching everything. The heat needles at Lethe's skin anywhere it's exposed. There's a rocky outcrop in the distance, flanked by squat buildings and something that looks like a -- giant lightbulb? Whatever.

Minuet's there and his hair's evenly split between black and blonde this time, right down the center. The wind kicks up and blasts Lethe with gritty sand, but also an avalanche of emotions: sharp, ringing concern, the kind that feels like ice water dumped over your head, or the sick drop of your stomach (for Lethe, for Lily, for Charon most of all); anger, incandescent and barely restrained, fighting like a bird desperate to be rid of its cage (wanting to lash out and rip the very pasture apart at its seams); grim determination, cutthroat and seemingly borne of nothing but utter lunacy; and a myriad of other things that fly by too quickly to register. ]

[Lethe hunches in on himself, keeping all of his emotions bunched in and down as he's pelted with sand and feelings; he looks more worn in the bright light of two suns, ghostly pale and tired. his mouth is a wary, defensive line on his face as he stares at Minuet. a full-body tremble runs through him as each emotion hits, fraying him at the edges.]

I'm here. What are you looking for?

You don't need to get into someone's head just for that, Minuet. There's not much to see.

[ The wind dies down, leaving something very still and very tired in its wake.

Sometimes it helps, when words clearly aren't working.

Better not to. It's less of a concern here, but I'm used to being overly-cautious about it. No one from my world can know. It just takes one of them showing up here for everything to get out. You know how this place is.

I think "showing" would work, but that's a bit. Traumatic?
