It's.... a long story. But in short, there is a person on his flock who used to be our enemy. He was being manipulated by his own father, an extremely cruel and manipulative man, but he also... did try to kill myself and my friends, and and killed other people, including my father, under that man's orders. Used us and framed us for it, as well. After we defeated him, he ended up sacrificing himself against his father.... We're not sure if he survived.

He's not our enemy any longer, and I bear no ill will towards him. I have no issue working with him unless he does betray us again.

... But I can't deny... that it still hurts...

I did say it wasn't recommended. You're a little young for that anyways. I don't think there's any advice to help your particular situation, since it's so...specific.

I don't want to hurt his feelings. It was my misunderstanding..... he shouldn't feel responsible. Especially if I'm... not enough for him.

It's fine if you hurt his feelings. He hurt your feelings. Friends are allowed to fight. I say punch him in the face if it'll make you feel better. It's healthy to fight it out sometimes.

...Should I give him a talking-to? I've never had to do that before, but I bet I could be intimidating enough.

Like I said. Friends can still kick each other's butts. Even if you're close, don't feel like that should hold you back from getting in a few hits.

I don't know exactly what happened, obviously. So I don't know if he was being vague or not, or if you really misunderstood. That's between you and him. Do you think you misunderstood, or do you think it was miscommunication on both sides?

Then, it was your fault for misunderstanding his words. It's something you have to be mindful of in the future. That doesn't make the heartbreak less painful. I'd say they're unrelated things.

I'm not going to recommend this all the time. You should still make sure to not overwork yourself. But for heartbreak...mm, having something to focus on can at least keep your mind off of it. Deep cleaning the barn only works for so long, but it can keep your mind elsewhere for a day or two. After that...well, we could always try ice cream and movies.
