[English has given him nothing but trouble at every turn smh
leans in to take a look at the character]
This is...it'd be Japanese for me. This is "snow", right? I only know some of the basics for Japanese, though. Chinese too. I wouldn't be able to figure out a sentence without a dictionary.
I'm a little surprised that the languages overlap this much between worlds. I was expecting a completely different writing system.
Mmm, that's right. Huuuh... I wonder what other things my world has in common with yours. I think someone else knew what my occupation was by looking at what I wore, but that's really rare for someone who doesn't know Sakian culture.
I'm certain some worlds must have a completely different writing system. Just as my world has a completely different magic system to most here.
I've seen the different writing systems of other worlds. They're usually nothing like this.
But, there are also kids here from other "Earths" that are similar to mine without being identical. Maybe your world is connected to the same source as mine. Then some of the similarities would make sense.
( he does a quick sketch of the many-layered kimono he wore, something lethe may remember from perci's memories during the bartender ritual. he's actually a pretty good artist, shame he's drawing an oiran's attire. )
[he is a little amused by the response; he's got a dumb little smile on his face that he tries and fails to hide for the sake of Perci's pride. elbows him lightly]
You're the one who said it first, not me. If you change your mind you have to do it before you meet the kids. Once you're introduced to the family you're stuck with us forever.
Re: day 21
Hmmmm~ I'm envious... but that's so curious. You're a human and we know the same language.
Do you know Sakian? Um - the characters are... ( on a spare piece of paper he draws the japanese kanji for snow. )

What outfit do you have that's Sakian?

Re: day 21
--Oh! I do remember seeing you in this one. I'm guessing you didn't wear hanbok, if you were wearing kimono instead.
Re: day 21
( he does, perhaps not surprisingly, draw a hanbok. his is very flowy with a skirt. )
Re: day 21
That's a hanbok! We usually only wear them for festivals and special occasions.
Re: day 21
How curious. I suppose I could see you as a brother from another world.

Re: day 21
Re: day 21
I'm honored. You'll fit right in.
Re: day 21
( lethe would be forgiven for thinking perci is being pouty, but his fluffing feathers say he's pleased...
truly a tsundere. )

Re: day 21
( nudging lethe back. )
I'll treat them with care.
Re: day 21
[piles up all of the books he grabbed from the library into a neat stack along with the papers they were using]
Charon was going to teach you to read and write a bit more, right? I think if he looks these over beforehand he should be fine.
Re: day 21
( he does recall the memory lethe gave him, after all. he watches the pile of books and lays a hand on them so they don't wobble. )
It's hard to reconcile some of the memories you showed me.
Re: day 21
Ah...well. They were very different times.
Re: day 21
I forgive, but I don't know if I'd forgive that.
Re: day 21
[sticks his legs up briefly. proof! no limp.]
The current Yoohyun hasn't done anything like that. In fact, he just recently helped to fix my leg when it was broken.
Re: day 21
That does explain some things.
Re: day 21
It was...things were pretty different.
[how many times has he said that in a row. scratches the back of his head]
And it's not like I'm happy with what he did back then. But he had his reasons.
Re: day 21
Living with a family must be quite different.
Re: day 21
It's better, now.
Re: day 21
Good. It had better be.
