Thankfully there is no one in the pasture I care about looking good in front of.

Somehow, that feels like a scathing review of the pasture as a whole.

Well, the only people I have an interest in have already seen me at my worst, there's no coming back from that.

[scoots out from under his wing to go find a hairbrush so he can attempt to clean up Perci's hair]

They've also seen you at your best. And if you like someone it's important to see the best and worst parts.

Mmm I don't think I've seen any bad parts yet.

( he will sit still for brushing... )

[he will brush it until it is silky smooth, careful to get out the worst of the knots and not yank on his hair as he goes.]

Stupid isn't necessarily bad if there's intent behind it.

Isn't that the perfect out? We usually all have good intentions. You're being too nice to everyone.

Well...

Killing ourselves to help Bluebell was something most of the pasture sees as "stupid", but we had a legitimate plan for it. "Stupid" is just too subjective of a word.

Reckless, cruel, perhaps... I have not seen much of that either, funnily enough. Well - reckless, sure, but...

[shakes his head]

I don't think that was stupid. Hmmmm, you're right, then. Some of it might be plenty reckless, but there's always a good reason behind it.

I don't have a lot of hair to brush. But, if you want to, I won't say no.

( grabby hands for the brush. )

[hands offers up the brush and shifts so Perci can get at his hair easier]

Does it? I usually just brush my own hair.

( well, he's going to perch up and gently brush his hair back, then forward, just to make sure that the oils in his hair and scalp are properly distributed. yeah, perci is that kinda beauty queen. )

I think it feels prickly in a good way. A bit like when your leg or arm falls asleep.

[he is not used to anyone doing this for him; he sits up straight, and very still so he doesn't mess up Perci's work]

I love that feeling. ( he puts the brush down just to do some light fussing with his fingers. ) There, done.

Oh, that's alright. I know how much of a pain it is to brush it all, I won't actually impart that punishment on you.
