Filial piety. The source of our universe creates and destroys worlds at random. It's my worlds turn to be swallowed up by the source, so the faction that wants to help the source tries to speed things along.
I obviously don't like it since I won't want my world to be destroyed. But we have a method for dealing with it! You can defend your world from being swallowed up.
Yeah, of course. I'm an F-Class awakened Hunter. I wouldn't have any of my skills if I wasn't awakened. I'm the weakest class you can get, though, so I'm not a good indication of how strong most Hunters are. The rankings are pretty straight forward: F, E, D, C, B, A, S. And then there are SS and SSS classes along with Legendary and Myth, but they don't come up much.
Unawakened people are just...normal humans. Like everyone on your planet, and most of the people on mine. Eight--ah, no, three years ago dungeons started appearing on my world, and people started to awaken in order to combat the monsters inside of dungeons. It's been like that ever since.
[well you see it does not just exist it is Created,]
It's a normal human lifespan, maybe a few years more. People have only been awakened for a few years now so there's no way to be sure. I only have an idea of how long S-Classes can live because the Transcendentals--the people from other worlds--have mentioned it to me.
Yeah, that's why they're all hundreds or thousands of years old. What's happening to my world happened to their worlds too. They all awakened--Or, I think they did? They're not really allowed to talk about their lives before. They've been system administrators for long enough to have seen the process on other worlds, including their own.
Honestly, I'm not close enough to most of them to ask that kind of question. But the nature of their existence does make me believe that their lives hold value to them. Each and every one of them became strong enough to survive the destruction of their worlds, and struggled to live. The system they're working with was set up for them to try and prevent the destruction of more worlds. They've been helping me this whole time. And even if...the situation with the source was somehow resolved, I don't get the impression that they would just pass on. I don't even think they can. They "fall asleep" for a while.
Re: ehehehe
I guess if we blended in well enough it might be fine regardless?
Why the hell are people trying to destroy a random world, though.

Re: ehehehe
This is the most garbage case of entropy I've ever heard of.
Re: ehehehe
Re: ehehehe
Re: ehehehe
I can't say. But it's really simple, and I've got five years to get it done. So it's not a problem at all.
Re: ehehehe
Are you doing it alone?
Re: ehehehe
Re: ehehehe
. . . So . . . are you awakened?

Re: ehehehe
How long does an "F-Class" live?

Re: ehehehe
How do they know? They have the same thing where they came from?

Re: ehehehe
[ Frowns for a second like he's wordsmithing this. Then just kinda decides 'fuck it' ]
Are they okay? In general?
Re: ehehehe
Re: ehehehe
I guess I mean . . .
Does their life continue to have value to them?
Re: ehehehe
[falls quiet as he actually thinks about it]

Re: ehehehe
I see.
It sounds . . . tiring.
