[leads him down a long corridor into a spacious living room that feels slightly too grand for Lethe's personal taste; the furniture looks normal--there's a pair of sofas and a love seat surrounding a coffee table, and there's a tall window that looks out into a garden in full bloom. but instead of any standard lighting, the house is lit by spheres of light floating overhead that blink in and out of existence as they move from hallway to living room. the marble floors shimmer with the reflection of the lights above, giving the hallway a faint feeling of being underwater. once they slip into the living room, though, a fluffy rug on the floor helps to dispel that illusion.]
What? No way. I've only done it once or twice! And never in a dream.
[the lights are just existing at the moment; not doing anything dangerous! the lighting itself has a very gentle calming effect though, slightly dimmed like one might dim the lights before going to bed]
I do have pretty robust security. It's just not in the form of a magic dream lake.
It works unless someone gets a keycard to the house. And even then, usually my brother, Noah, Yerim, and all of the monsters are enough to scare someone off. Usually it's more of an issue when we're not at home, you know?
That makes sense. I think if I walked into a house full of as many monsters as you've got when I wasn't expecting it, I might just turn around and leave too.
...Even if you don't know them, if I tell them that you're friendly then it'd be fine. You're not an intruder so you'd never have to worry. They're all very well-behaved kids.
[the words of a man rationalizing how polite his monsters can be to strangers]
I can't completely control them. But I know we're in a dream right now, so I can do things like this.
[holds out his hand and makes a pile of nachos and soda appear on the coffee table]
Little stuff. But I think Azdaja has been inside of a dream where she saw my house before. It can't be hard to at least run through memories when the setting is right. So try dreaming of your house next time you go to bed! If it doesn't make you homesick.
Re: probably night 62
Did I wake you up?
Re: probably night 62
I was sleeping, but I'm also still sleeping. So I think it's fine? Come on in.
[steps aside so he can enter]
Re: probably night 62
[ wait. squints at him on his way into the mansion. ]
Is dumping people into dream lakes, like, a regular thing for you?

Re: probably night 62
Good. I think having a weird dream security system would make me a lot more worried about how dangerous your life is.

Re: probably night 62
I guess I can't really judge... Scarab's basically a whole security system too. You don't need to use yours much, do you?
Re: probably night 62
Uhm...sometimes?
[nailed it]
Re: probably night 62
Guess I should've expected that answer. At least it must work well since you're still here.

Re: probably night 62
They are! You'd love them! Maybe I can show them to you in my next dream. It's not the same as the real thing, but it'd give you a general idea.

Re: probably night 62
Just giving it a try can't hurt. I don't think a couple of dreams can make me more homesick than I already am.
Re: probably night 62
I know how you feel. At this point, the memories might be nice to share, you know?
