[there are: a bunch of books on varying types of magic specifically from Aides's world, some recipe books, a book on how to make alcohol, a shit ton of books on wolves and other canine creatures, some books on werewolves also, possibly every star chart in the library, a few teen magazines that all have titles on them like "How To Tell If Your Crush Likes You Back!" and "Romance 101 for Dummies", a few books on aliens that have been clearly discarded in a corner, and some books on necromancy.]
Don't say my name like that. It means we're going to do something stupid.
[closes the book he's got propped open on his leg]
Hey now, that makes it sound like you're doubting your abilities. I fully believe in your ability to pull of a miraculous stunt, and also that you would come and calmly knock on my door afterwards to tell me the good news.
[sets his book aside and flips to a blank page just in case he needs to write something down]
Do you have any idea if Shadow Fiend can track him in the mist?
I don't know yet. The hope is that she can track him -- or better yet, lure him towards the fence. You know the shepherds can get the attention of the flocks, and urge them towards their locations.
I received some memories of what lies in the mist. If they must go in and hunt for him, their chances are bad. It will be complicated as is: it seems he did not lose the ability to spellcast when he transformed, and he is very strong.
I said I would ask if you would help. Rose likely has enough offense to deal with him, but your supportive skills would lend an extra edge in pinning him down and getting a handle on his spells.
My Rune might also create a synergistic support effect, and your additional strength when acting to protect a Lily as well. But if they do need to enter the mist...I am not sure if it balances. I am relatively defenseless, in a combat situation where I cannot hide.
I might be able to help lure him to us; I'm not confident, but it's worth a try. After the latest excursions into the mist...I honestly don't think it's a good idea for us to go in there either. Every single beast is probably riled up and ready to take a bite at us. It doesn't sound like any of our stealth or camouflage will last us long if abilities can turn off in there at any time. I don't want to risk more people getting lost or turning into werewolves in the process. If we do a rescue, we do it smart.
I think the first was just to see what was to be found, though they did get a little wolfsbane and confirmed the necessity of a Weed to guide, at the least. And the Wolf King's presence.
The second, though, I am not really sure. Simply more information, I suppose.
...It's not like we can stop them from going in there, but seriously...what the heck. I feel like I need to teach them how to make a plan before going into unknown territory.
If it is too much, you can always ask someone else to talk to him. I know you won't, but I'm saying it out loud so that you're forced to at least consider it as an option.
Frankly, in that scenario, I would feel worst for the middleman.
It's not...
I don't hate him for it, or find his presence intolerable. Others on Lily like him well enough, he is often caught up in the same endeavors we are, and I respect that.

What happened?
Re: night 26
Sorry.
Re: night 26
[closes his eyes]
If it wasn't your fault then don't say sorry.

If Shadow Fiend can at least track him, then I think we can lure him towards the fence. Once he's in the pasture he'll be easier to subdue.

Re: night 26
[ah]
Do any of your abilities manifest as darkness, or shadow? It seems like that can be particularly nasty in its unpredictability.
Re: night 26
...There was a second trip after the first one?
Re: night 26
They intend to make the third the day after tomorrow, potentially.

Re: night 26
They did have some kind of a plan. In retrospect, I should have tried to stop Blood Fiend when I heard of the intention for a second trip, though.
Re: night 26
It's not your responsibility to try and stop them. Especially when you're not really talking to Blood Fiend.
[raises an eyebrow at him as if to confirm that he is indeed not really talking to Blood Fiend]
Re: night 26
I only spoke to him when he offered to do so in Rose barn, which is warded against psychic influencing.
Re: night 26
[pauses, for half a beat]
Surprised is the wrong word. What I meant is...don't push yourself.

I just no longer trust him.
