[charon isn't telling him to stop!!!!! he takes that big scaley face in his hands and rubs at a spot near his ears that he knows is soothing. and then kisses his forehead while he's at it]
Re: day 39, noonish (during lilybell intermission)
Those should work as makeshift hutches if we put some hay in them.
[he idly reaches over to run his fingers through the feather crest on his head, straightening out any poofy-looking feathers. then he carefully picks up the bag full of bunnies (and egg) and heads for Lily barn]
Re: day 39, noonish (during lilybell intermission)
Before hatching I'd like to keep it in a warm nest, which is easy enough to make. After hatching I'd like to have a decently-sized bird cage for it, until it can fly around on its own and won't attack anyone. I think it'd be fine on the barn roof most of the time, but like with the bunnies, I want to have a safe spot for it inside.
Re: day 39, noonish (during lilybell intermission)
It's been a while since I've worked with baby birds...
[scrunches his nose up a lil as he searches his memory]
Baby chicks that haven't opened their eyes need to feed every three or four hours, I think. And once they open their eyes it's every...four to five hours? I'll have to check. Once they grow in their feathers they can eat two or three meals a day, which is roughly every six hours.

Are you feeling a little better?
Re: day 39, noonish (during lilybell intermission)
. . . a little.
Re: day 39, noonish (during lilybell intermission)
Are you coming back to the barn, or staying out here? I can give you some busywork, if it would help.
Re: day 39, noonish (during lilybell intermission)
Mmm. If we are not resuming the meeting, there are other tasks I ought attend to, before whenever Rose is meant to come up on our schedule.
If you would like help getting the animals settled, I will provide it first, though.
Re: day 39, noonish (during lilybell intermission)
Only if you want to help. I don't want to take you away from anything else if it's urgent.
Re: day 39, noonish (during lilybell intermission)
Just some check-ins on prior requests from others. It is fine.

[reluctantly stops petting him now that there is a task to be done]
Re: day 39, noonish (during lilybell intermission)
There were one or two, from when we had no better furniture on hand.

Do chicks require nighttime feedings?
