[Though they all reconstituted fine after their train adventure... But who knows, they had a Producer with them for that, anything could have been going on there. None of them even understood what was going on with themselves yet. In many ways it's all a blur.
Hex is very careful to help Eugene try and make his way safely into the pool itself.]
Other people have to broadcast all of their thoughts in here.
Hah. Certainly not. After we all sat here after one very, very bloody performance, and shared one too many things with each other, some of our number were pushed to unlock unlimited access without any of those stipulations, and the rest of us joined the cause. Even when it involved negotiating directly with the Showmaster.
It wasn't bad at all, in the end... The performance we did to unlock the place.
I'm grateful for all of your efforts, since they seem to extend to me as well. It would...be a little too much for one day, to have to broadcast my thoughts on top of everything else.
[He's just sitting fully clothed on the edge of the pool.]
You've been trying very hard to permanently put yourself on top of the rankings for "newcomer most rapidly disillusioned by the weight of reality." ... I'm sorry everything has been so overwhelming.
[Eugene keeps his body mostly submerged when he enters the pool, trying to get as much healing as possible]
It's not something you have to feel sorry for. I'm not happy with it, but...pretty much all of it has been self-inflicted up to this point. I can only blame my own poor choices.
I'm not saying it wasn't a scam. It obviously was. The Showmaster got way more out of us than we did her. The exchange of information was far from even. But it is true that we all agreed to pick those squares, instead of picking none at all.
"Collectively" doesn't sound like you can blame only yourself and your own bad decisions.
This is a stupid argument that I won't keep perpetuating, but the problem is that you insisting on blaming yourself is also very stupid, and so it is stupid either way.

[glances down at his hands; they are covered in Frost's blood so it's hard to see, but there are severe burn marks on them]
And at least I can't trip in water if we're in the healing pools.

Yes... Let's bring you there too, then. Luckily you should also benefit from our unlocking them.

[he can go without tripping for a bit as long as he's careful, so he is able to at least head to the pools without much issue]

...I want to ask if that's a joke, but I know it's not.

[He grumbles, but then sits up straighter.]
...and false. There's no conceivable reality where the happenings of that performance were "your own poor choices."

Yes, I will agree with you there.
